It’s been an exciting journey becoming a published author, and my hope is that you’ll have as much fun reading my stories as I do writing them.
I was thinking about my writing process the other day, and realized that finding the germ of an idea for a story is like that first meeting between hero and heroine—there’s a thrill, my heart races and everything is new and fresh and full of possibilities. The actual writing is like figuring out whether this is going to a relationship that can work, there’s still that excitement but there’s also the work of ironing out all the wrinkles, figuring out what makes the story tick. I like to think of being offered a contract as the proposal, and publication like the wedding!
It’s hard to say what my favorite part of the writing process is, they each have their appeal. The middle is satisfying when everything starts to take shape properly and the end is a rush because , well, it’s nearly done! When it comes down to it, though, nothing beats the thrill of that first inspiration, the racing heart and pleasure of discovery.
I hope my stories give you a taste of that thrill, make your heart beat a little faster and keep you turning the pages to find the happily ever after.
